Warriors not seeking family exemptions

The Warriors are not seeking any special favours for the families of their NRL players, saying they will abide by government restrictions on arrivals into Australia.

It was believed the club was requesting exemptions for some families of players to avoid going into 14-days quarantine when they arrive in Australia from New Zealand.

However, the Warriors have clarified that this is not the case.

The club is only asking that family members be allowed into Australia before the NRL restart on May 28 - and has not made any request for dispensation from the mandatory two-week hotel isolation period that is being enforced due to current guidelines for overseas arrivals.

Coach Stephen Kearney said that some families were looking for permission to travel to Australia from Auckland as soon as possible while others were waiting to hear for news of a "trans-Tasman bubble".

This would allow free movement between the two countries.
