Kiwi spinner Ish Sodhi has been given out in the IPL in the unluckiest way imaginable.
Batting for the Rajasthan Royals against the Kolkata Knight Riders overnight, Sodhi mishit a yorker off the bowling of Prasidh Krishna.
The ball deviated off Sodhi’s foot and towards the keeper in an incident that initially appeared to be a regulation delivery and mishit.
However then came the appeals of the keeper, who had caught the ball, and the interest of the square umpire who decided to refer the decision to the third umpire.
Now Sohdi was nervous.
Incredibly, replays showed the ball had never actually touched the ground off the bat of the Kiwi, bouncing straight off his foot and into the lucky hands of the Kolkata keeper.
It was truly one of the unluckiest dismissals in the history of cricket.
To add salt to Sodhi’s wounds, his side were easily beaten as Kolkata chased down the Rajasthan score with two overs to spare.
Aussie Chris Lynn top-scored for Kolkata with 45 off 42 balls.
