United 'saddened' by Yeats passing

Dundee United have shared their condolences after the passing of former player Ron Yeats at the age of 86.

The defender began his career at Dundee United before joining Liverpool in 1961.

A Scotland international, Yeats won two caps for the side in 1964 and 1965.

"We are saddened to hear of the passing of our former player Ron Yeats," United said on social media.

"The thoughts of everyone at Dundee United Football Club are with Ron’s family and friends at this time."
