The Defense Ministry is currently handling the procurement of food for the military until March 2024, while the State Logistics Operator will be responsible for contracts in the following three quarters.
Zhumadilov has plans to change food procurement.
"We will separate the procurement into commodity and service components,” Zhumadilov said.
“We will not purchase sets that are supposedly delivered to the combat zone because, in reality, no one delivers them to the combat zone. This is one of the biggest falsehoods."
The State Logistics Operator will create different categories of food, each with separate contracts and procedures. The price per unit of each produce will be made accessible to the public, ensuring transparency.
Logistics services will be procured separately.
While these changes will involve a significant amount of work, “In the end, we will have a clear, transparent, and managed picture of how contracts for food supply are executed.”
