UK cinemas bringing back £3 tickets for one day only
Cinema is alive and well, and it's soon going to be cheaper too, to celebrate National Cinema Day on September 2.
As if the Barbie box-office record wasn't a testament to film lovers flocking to the theatre again, National Cinema Day will give moviegoers based in the UK a little incentive with £3 tickets for just one day. This is obviously a steal, as getting to watch a movie for less than a tenner has become a very rare occurrence.
This is the second year of the event, with similar initiatives taking place in other countries across Europe. In the UK, 630 venues, including major cinema operators and smaller theatres, have signed up to participate to make the magic of the silver screen more accessible.

"There seems no better time than now to celebrate UK cinema-going, one of the nation's favourite out-of-home leisure activities. Coming off of the back of recent box office successes and the huge profile they have given to the sector, we wanted to give everyone a chance to enjoy the big screen experience," chair of Cinema First Iain Jacob said in a statement.
"While all the evidence confirms that cinema-going is amongst the most low-cost, best value-for-money leisure opportunities, we also of course recognise that many households are still experiencing significant impacts on their finances and wanted to do our bit to make a trip to the cinema even more affordable for the whole family."

Last year's event saw almost 1.5 million cinema admissions, around three times the normal level, confirming that no other film experience can beat a trip to the movies.
