Amanda Nunes vs. Megan Anderson featherweight title fight rescheduled for March

The UFC women’s featherweight title fight is back on the calendar.

The 145-pound fight between dual-belt champion Amanda Nunes and Megan Anderson is rebooked to March 6, UFC officials announced Monday. It was originally scheduled for Dec. 12 at UFC 256, but Nunes had to bow out of the bout reportedly due to an injury.

The location of the rebooked fight has not been announced, but it is expected to be a UFC 259 co-feature, per ESPN.

Nunes vs. Anderson rescheduled for March

Nunes (20-4) will compete in her second featherweight title defense since she won it with a devastating knockout of Cris “Cyborg” Justino two years ago. Nunes became the first woman in UFC history to win titles in two weight classes and defended the title against Felicia Spencer at UFC 250 in June.

Nunes last defended her 135-pound bantamweight championship in December 2019 against Germaine de Randamie. She has an 11-fight win streak that dates to 2015.

Anderson (10-4) is a former Invicta FC featherweight champion. She’s won her last two fights in the first round against Norma Dumont Viana and Zarah Fairn Dos Santos. She lost via a first-round submission to Felicia Spencer in the fight before those.
