Two F1 team staff test positive for COVID

Two staff members of the Aston Martin Formula One team have tested positive for the coronavirus and are in quarantine ahead of the season opener in Bahrain.

The team said on Friday shortly before the start of first free practice for the Bahrain Grand Prix that additional safety measures have been implemented.

No details on the infected people were given.

Aston Martin are the rebranded Racing Point team, with former world champion Sebastian Vettel their new driver alongside Lance Stroll.

The Bahrain race on Sunday is scheduled to start the 2021 season after the Melbourne Grand Prix was postponed.

Owing to the virus teams are operating in bubbles with frequent testing.
