'Are they trying to be the Storm?': Broncos' purple jersey baffles fans

The Broncos can never beat the Melbourne Storm at Suncorp Stadium but is dressing up like their long-time rivals really the answer?

Brisbane hosted South Sydney on Thursday night and wore a purple and pink number, following up on last weekend’s NRL Women in League round.

But the Broncos went above and beyond adding highlights to their regular jersey.

While the purple was a little deeper than Melbourne’s effort last week and closer to the Storm’s usual colour, fans were caught off guard.

Corey Oates scored a double inside the first 20 minutes and then Korbin Sims scored as the home side raced out to an 18-0 lead.

For the record, Melbourne have lost to the Broncos in Brisbane just once since 2006.
