Titans OT Dennis Kelly makes history as heaviest player with postseason touchdown catch
The Tennessee Titans are doing their level best to keep their upset streak going on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC championship game.
Notably, the Titans’ coaching staff isn’t going to start being conservative now, and that includes getting everyone involved in scoring.

In the second quarter, Tennessee was facing second-and-goal. Backup tackle Dennis Kelly had checked in as eligible, and lined up on the outside shoulder of left tackle Taylor Lewan.
Ryan Tannehill faked a handoff to Derrick Henry then lobbed a pass to Kelly, who was wide open.
It was Kelly’s second touchdown of the season, and according to the CBS broadcast, the 30-year-old is now the heaviest player to catch a touchdown pass in NFL postseason history, giving new meaning to “big man touchdown.”
Kelly is listed at 6-foot-8, 321 pounds. He was drafted in 2012 by the Philadelphia Eagles, who were coached at the time by Andy Reid — now, of course, the Chiefs head coach.
Kelly’s catch also underscored the versatility of Titans’ coordinator Arthur Smith’s play-calling: last week, Henry threw a touchdown pass in the win over the Baltimore Ravens, and earlier in the season offensive lineman David Quessenberry also caught a touchdown pass.
Kelly became the eighth Titans player to score a touchdown this postseason.
The Titans weren’t able to keep the lead, though, as the Chiefs went on to eventually win 35-24 and secure a Super Bowl berth.
