The Nets' new Classic Edition uniforms show off their colorful history
The Brooklyn Nets have kept their uniforms pretty straightforward since they became the Brooklyn Nets in 2012. They’ve stuck with a classic black and white color scheme, even on their recent City Edition uniforms (though that did feature a “Brooklyn Camo” stripe down each side).
For the 2020-2021 season, the Nets are dipping into their history and bringing some color back with them.
The team unveiled their Classic Edition uniforms on Wednesday, and they’re different than anything the Brooklyn Nets have ever worn.

30 years ago the New Jersey Nets found a new look. This year, the Brooklyn Nets are paying homage to a classic.

These throwback uniforms are done in blue tie-dye with bright red lettering and red piping. They’re a slightly updated version of the road uniforms the New Jersey Nets wore in 1990-1991, and they’re totally gorgeous.
These uniforms represented a shift for the Nets back in 1990. They drastically changed their logo from a late 1970s/early 1980s version that looked like an ad for local transportation to one with a stylized, angular font and a red, white, and blue color gradient.
Do they look a little bit like the red, white, and blue rocket pops you’d get from your local ice cream truck? Absolutely. But Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant are still going to look great wearing them.
