Australian Open: Stan Wawrinka produces a clinical performance to beat Kei Nishikori in straight sets

Stan Wawrinka's Australian Open defence reached the semi-finals stage following a straight-sets defeat of fifth seed Kei Nishikori on Rod Laver Arena.

Wawrinka, the tournament's fourth seed, secured passage from the quarter-finals via a 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (8-6) victory.

He will meet either world number one Novak Djokovic or Milos Raonic in Friday's second semi-final.
