Great to see Andy Roddick back in action in Memphis. Also Milos Raonic should continue Fernando Verdasco's nightmare and beat him in the 1st round.

Milos Raonic had to defeat a much trickier opponent in Stepanek this time round. One gets the feeling Raonic has a harder time if his opposition takes the pace off.I think this victory is way better than beating Verdasco because Stepanek makes you fight for every single point any way he can.

It was a good match for someone that is coming back on tour after a long injury break.  Besides it certainly was all one way as you lead us to believe.  I watched myself

I watched the whole match and Blake played the way he always plays ...stupid.Sure he can hit the ball hard just like that other idiot Verdasco but that's all he can do.Even a new guy like Milos Ranic proved those two are well past it.You would think after all these years of injury breaks and getting knocked out in the 2nd round that Blake would have learnt something.Roddick played no where near his best and left Blake floundering.

Roddick would have been a better opponent for Djoko than the flukey Gasquet.

if''s, but's, maybe's, Jam

Who knows if A-Whiner would have been a 'better' opponent for Djoko & he does he a very good record vs. Djoko....but this is 'now' & several things are clear :-

1. A-Whiner is a fading force & not the player he once was - a huge serve will no longer cover for the multiplying deficencies in his game
2. Gasquet was the better player on the day vs. A-Whiner (acknowledged by A-Whiner himself), so no use saying about being a 'better' opponent. RG earned the right to play Djoko - fair & square
3. The form Djoko is in right now - since start of year - who's to say he wouldn't have blown A-Whiner in the same way he blew away the mercurial RG ???

Was a pity that RG didn't bring anything close to his A-Game to the match vs. Djoko but that's what you get with French tennis players (Noah, Leconte, Tsonga, Monfils, RG etc etc)........ incredible talents & on their day can beat anybody (inc. the very best) - but most days, they are not on their game & that's why they rarely feature in the business end of the big tourneys

My point exactly,at least Roddick has featured at the deep end of tournaments many more times than the fragile Gasquet. You couldn't have agreed with me more. Thanks for coming. As I predicted Djoko beat Fedex.Delpo didn't bring his A game against Nadal.I'm tipping Djoko to win the final.

well FigJam......your tipping & views on tennis would appear to have to be taken with a pinch of salt.........eg. Andreev's up&coming roll to the top-10 & him being a better player than Verdasco & Ferrer ????.........you better watch out....with comments like those (& the A-Whiner 'if-but-maybe..'), you'll be getting a new nickname.....'The Donut' :+)

At least I don't read from a cue card.I stand by what I've said.It is a lot easier to stay in the top 10 once you have been there a little while than to actually get there at all in the first place. How Ferrer and Verdasco have stayed in the top 10 given their poor performances in the slams is beyond me.But then I suppose Davydenko was able to spend more time in the top 10 than he deserved by being very selective about which tournaments he played given who his opposition would be.I call it a protect the ranking career.Players like Andreev haven't been as cunning at avoiding the top players or the ones that pose the biggest threat. There are a number of players over the years who have been one good win from building the momentum to make a run for the top 10.Maybe my nickname for you should be Snott-head because you think you know everything.
