It is day two of quarter finals at the Australian Open with every match looking very interesting.
Roger Federer v Jo-Wilfried Tsonga
I am going to tip Federer here because he has been in such wonderful form.
It is going to be a very entertaining, I just love the way Tsonga plays tennis but Roger has beaten him the last four times they have played.
Tsonga obviously has the big game but he is not quite as consistent as the big four, or three as it is at the Australian Open this year.
If Tsonga brings his very best though he can push anyone. Then again if Roger is playing at his beautiful best then he will beat Tsonga at his top so I am going to stick with Roger on this one.
Andy Murray v Jeremy Chardy
I am going for Murray here. I am a long time Murray fan and am actually tipping him to take the whole thing.
I really like the way he has come through the draw so far, not dropping a set and he beat Gilles Simon last up really comfortably.
Chardy has a different game and it is going to be a challenge for Murray but the Scot is just looking so composed at the moment.
Chardy has done very well coming in unseeded and getting to a grand slam quarter final but I don’t think he will get past Murray.
Andy has been keeping his head down as well, not many people have said much about him yet and that is just how he likes it.
I think he would have liked one night time game on Rod Laver Arena before his semi final with Roger but that hasn’t happened.
That may play into Roger’s hands a bit but that is getting ahead of ourselves.
Murray to beat Chardy this afternoon.
Serena Williams v Sloane Stephens
Serena will win this but it is going to be an emotionally challenging game for her.
She is coming up against her heir apparent, a good friend of her, someone she hits with all the time.
She might find it hard to crush her but that is what she has to do.
The pair played each other recently in Sydney and Sloane would have learned a lot from the encounter.
I think the youngster went into the game thinking it would be a bit friendlier, but it certainly wasn’t. Serena dispatched her in straight sets.It will be a great match to watch though.
Stephens has so much talent and should just go out there swinging because she has nothing to lose.
Serena is looking pretty unstoppable though at the moment.
Victoria Azarenka v Svetlana Kuznetsova
I think there is a possibility of an upset here.
Kuznetsova is a former grand slam winner who is back from injury.
She is fresh and hungry and has a great chance to go further in a slam than she has in a long time.
Azarenka looks happy at the moment though, she is shuffling around Melbourne Park with a smile on her face.
She played well in her last game but struggled against Jamie Hampton.
So I think if Kuznetsova brings her best, she is pretty erratic at times, then she can cause an upset today.
