A young ballgirl from Queensland has made international headlines after scoring a kiss on the cheek from German tennis star Alexander Zverev.
Issy Tomkins was ballgirl during Australia's Davis Cup clash with Germany over the weekend, and shared a nice moment with Zverev during the first singles rubber on Friday.
The 16-year-old slipped over while retrieving a ball during Zverev's match against Alex De Minaur, prompting the German player to give her a kiss on the cheek.
Issy looked delighted by the sweet gesture, as well as a little bit embarrassed by the attention of the cameras and crowd.
A number of German publications reportedly picked up on the kiss and splashed Issy's face on their websites and newspapers.
She has since opened up about her five seconds of fame, describing the moment as 'nice'.
“He was one of my favourite tennis players and he has been for a while so I was pretty stoked,” she told News Corp.
“The players actually support us and are thankful, and that’s really nice for everyone to see.”
Issy has been ballgirling in Brisbane all summer, including during Nick Kyrgios's triumph at the Brisbane International.
She isn't the first ballkid to make headlines throughout the summer of tennis.
This youngster took an awesome catch off the racquet of Roger Federer during the Australian Open final.
As did this young girl during Rafael Nadal's win over Diego Schwartzman.
