Former champion Agnieszka Radwanska will return for January's Auckland Classic tennis.

Former champions Agnieszka Radwanska and Roberto Bautista Agut have been confirmed for January's Auckland Classic tennis tournament.

Poland's Radwanska, the 2013 women's winner and former world No.2, and 2016 champion Bautista Agut will return to New Zealand, ahead of the Australian Open in Melbourne.

A former Wimbledon finalist, Radwanska's ranking has dropped to No.11.

"I have never lost in Auckland so I have very good memories," she said.

"It always amazes me that the crowds are full right from the start. You don't get that at a lot of tournaments and makes it a great place for us to play."

Spain's Bautista Agut is world No.13 and has had another strong year on tour winning two ATP titles (Chennai and Winston Salem).

"For me, Auckland is great to start the new season and prepare myself for Melbourne. I like the court and have played very well there. Maybe I can win another title," he said.

More big names are expected to be confirmed for the tournament.

"What is most exciting for me is we do not expect either of these two players, at 11 and 13 in the world, will be our top seeds," tournament director Karl Budge said.

The 2018 Classic will span two weeks; the women's tournament running from January 1-6, followed by the men's tournament from January 8-13.
