Murray battling injury ahead of Wimbledon

Andy Murray is set to start Wimbledon with only two matches on grass under his belt this year after withdrawing from an exhibition at the Hurlingham Club.

The world number one was due to be in action in London on Tuesday, but announced he would not feature until Friday due to a hip problem.

Murray signed up to play at Hurlingham for the first time in three years after a surprise first-round loss to Jordan Thompson at the Aegon Championships last week.

The Wimbledon champion was supposed to face Lucas Pouille at the Aspall Tennis Classic, but took no chances the week before he starts the defence of his title at the All England Club.

Murray reached the semi-finals of the French Open before starting his grass-court campaign with a shock loss at Queen's Club.
