Dasha opponent joins in with mid-match Mexican wave

Timea Bacsinszky showed nerves of steal to serve out the second set against Daria Gavrilova, even joining in as the crowd did the Mexican wave.

Leading 6-5 in Saturday night's second set, Bacsinszky was just about to commence her service game when the wave broke out around Rod Laver Arena.

The Swiss player watched on with a smile on her face before throwing her arms in the air as it made its way past where she was standing.

The packed crowd showed their appreciation with a round of applause, as Bacsinszky calmly held her nerve to level the match at one set all.

It wasn't enough for Bacsinszky however as Dasha stormed home to win.
