Wozniacki urges McIlroy to 'move on' after latest public dig

Caroline Wozniacki has hit back at Rory McIlroy, following the golfer’s latest public remarks about his ex-fiancée.

The former world number one was speaking ahead of her third round Australian Open match with Britain's Johanna Konta, when asked about McIlroy’s comments.

"I don't understand why he keeps bringing it up," Wozniacki said.

McIlroy took a number of not-so-subtle digs at the Dane during an interview with the Irish Independent this week.

The golfing superstar spoke about his relationship with new fiancée Erica Stoll, and how he found it refreshing to be with someone "normal."

"We met when she (Erica) was working for the PGA of America, and renting a condo in Palm Beach, and I found it refreshing being with someone who was living a normal life rather than, 'Oh! My jet is 30 minutes late!'"

"I can be myself around her, there's no bullsh*t, no acting, no show."

Wozniacki says she can't understand why the Northern Irishman continues to bring up their "dead" relationship.

"Was I surprised? Yes, it's a little dead by now. It's three years ago.

"He looks like he's doing well. And if he's doing well, he must surely then look to move on."

Wozniacki has looked back to the form that took her to the top of women's tennis, during her first two matches at Melbourne Park.

A victory for the Dane against Konta will set up a showdown against the winner of the third-round clash between Dominika Cibulkova and Ekaterina Makarova.
