'Stick to tennis': Bouchard shows off AFL skills

Canadian tennis star Eugenie Bouchard is enjoying the full Aussie experience, trying her hand at AFL after deputising as a lifeguard at Bondi beach.

The World No.46 was joined by some of the stars of the GWS Giants women's team at Sydney Olympic Park on Wednesday, learning some of the skills of Aussie rules.

"I think they're pretty good," Bouchard said about her AFL skills.

"My kicks are pretty good but the ball is really hard and it was hurting me!

"I think I'll stick to tennis for now."

On Sunday Bouchard tried her hand at being a lifeguard at Bondi ahead of the Sydney International.

She paid a visit to the world famous beach and learned the ropes from some of the lifeguards.

"The beach is my paradise, it's my favourite thing in the world," she said.

"So it was amazing to be a Bondi lifeguard this afternoon."

She was at her cheeky best, messing around with some of the beachgoers.

"I got to roll in the little beach cruiser and I was yelling out 'shark' to everyone."

Bouchard was the recipient of a wildcard entry into the Sydney International, where she has enjoyed two straight victories.
