Impatient Dasha takes court prep into her own hands

They say waiting is the hardest part and for Aussie hopeful Daria Gavrilova it was just too much.

Light rain hit the Sydney International on Monday night, causing Gavrilova's clash with Croatian player Donna Vekic to pause midway through the second set.

Gavrilova was up 6-3 4-2 at the time and appeared to catch a whiff of victory.

One point into the seventh game of the second set, Vekic, down 0-15, felt the lines were now too slippery to continue.

Gavrilova was keen to nail down her advantage and asked for a few towels.

The 22-year-old jumped ahead of a ball boy, speeding along the baseline to try to get the match going again.

In a sign that Gavrilova was agitating to get back on, Vekic went on to level the second set at 4-4 before the Aussie secured the set and match in a tiebreak.

Perhaps Dasha has been watching the NBA recently and saw Sacramento Kings star DeMarcus Cousins do something similar?
