Federer's incredible kindness to young fan in tears

Roger Federer has once again shown why he is the nicest guy in tennis, comforting a young fan who couldn't hold back the tears when meeting her idol.

The fan - Lily - had the proud honour of tossing the coin before Federer and Hopman Cup teammate Belinda Bencic's mixed doubles rubber against Germany on Wednesday night.

Decked out in Switzerland gear, Lily burst into tears as she made her way out onto court.

But she was immediately cheered up by a hug from the Swiss Maestro, who took Lily under his wing.

Federer even let her call the toss, Lily breaking into a massive smile as she correctly called heads and received a high five from the World No.16.

Switzerland went on to win the tie 2-1 despite Federer's shock singles loss to Alexander Zverev.

Although it didn't seem to bother him too much, showing off some hilarious 'air-bongo' moves while watching Bencic's match from the stands.

The former world No.1 is returning from six months on the sidelines following ankle and back injuries and believes his preparation for the opening grand slam of 2017 couldn't be any better.
