Kyrgios blows up, refuses to shake umpire’s hand

It took Nick Kyrgios less than one game into his US Open campaign to engage in a dispute with an umpire.

The Aussie firebrand received a code violation in the opening game of his first round match against Horacio Zeballos, for hitting a ball that had already gone out “too hard” and dangerously close to a linesman.

You’re giving me a code violation for hitting the ball too hard? I’ve heard it all now, Kyrgios fumed after the umpire’s decision was handed down.

The incident clearly rankled Kyrgios, and he was still seething after wrapping up the victory almost two hours later.

The 14th seed walked straight past the umpire and refused to shake his hand, before taking one last shot at the man in the chair.

“You had one job. One job,” Kyrgios barked before leaving the court.
