Andrea Petkovic throws epic on-court tantrum

German tennis player Andrea Petkovic has produced a monumental on-court meltdown after a line-call went against her at the WTA Dubai Duty Free Championship.

At 5-6 in the first set in her match against Zarina Diyas, Petkovic allowed a shot from Diyas to bounce, thinking it would be called out.

However the call never came, and Petkovic erupted.

The 27-year-old pleaded with the linesman and chair umpire, and even turned to members of the crowd to help her out.

In all fairness, the ball looked clearly long.

She even got down on her hands and knees and smacked the ground in frustration.

Diyas took the set on the very next point, prompting Petkovic to hurl her racquet toward her bench, narrowly missing the linesman.

Diyas then went on to win the match in straight sets.
