Andy Murray's motivational on-court notes leaked

Andy Murray is almost always very fired up and determined when on the tennis court for a match so it comes as little surprise that he carries with him a sheet of notes.

The A4 sheet of paper reveals Murray's key mental and tactical pointers, which makes for a fascinating insight for all tennis fans.

The notes were photographed while Murray sat at his chair at ATP Rotterdam and they have since been leaked on social media.

Dutch journalist Wilfred Genee obtained the notes after Murray's quarter-final defeat by Gilles Simon.

He has now posted them online for the world to see.

A list of 10 instructions are featured on the sheet, which he was seen reading during the tournament, along with a letter of support from his fans.

Here are Murray's 10 pointers, as outlined on the sheet:

1. Be good to yourself

2. Try your best

3. Be intense with your legs

4. Be proactive during points

5. Focus on each point and the process

6. Try to be the one dictating

7. Try to keep him at the baseline, make him move

8. Keep going for your serve

9. Stick to the baseline as much as possible

10. Stay low on passes and use your legs

What is unclear is who had produced the notes - was it Murray or perhaps his coach, Amelie Mauresmo?

Well, as it happens, Mauresmo did not travel with the British number one to the tournament in the Netherlands.

But another option besides Murray himself could have been the sports psychologist who he has been working with over the last few weeks.

However, the notes did not have the desired effect in Rotterdam as Murray lost 6-4 6-2 to Simon - the first time he has lost to the Frenchman in their last 13 meetings.
