Queens of the court in Aus Open final LIVE on Seven

World no. 1 Serena Williams will be battling illness and injury to overcome Russian Maria Sharapova for the Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup LIVE 6.30pm Saturday on Seven, as she aims for her sixth Australian Open title.

Williams has won the last 15 encounters against the world no. 2, but with the American battling her way through the week with a virus, this may be Sharapova’s best chance to beat her since 2004.

Sharapova has won only one set in their last 11 matches, however that came in 2013 at Miami.

Hosted by Hamish McLachlan with International Tennis Hall of Fame member Todd Woodbridge, former British no. 1 Sam Smith and four-time Grand Slam doubles titleist Rennae Stubbs in the commentary chair for Seven.

In a new Seven and Yahoo7 initiative, fans can also watch any match from a televised court, along with all press conferences, in addition to the Channel 7 coverage, streamed live online and on mobile and tablet devices via the 7Sport app, as well as on Hybrid TV.
