Tennis world erupts over video of Federer's wife and mum

Tennis fans have gone nuts over a hilarious moment involving Roger Federer’s wife and mother.

The cheeky moment occurred during Federer’s loss to Alexander Zverev in the ATP Finals semis on Sunday, but has only gained attention in recent days.

As you can see in the video above, Mirka was watching her husband in action when the big screen in the O2 Arena in London showed a female spectator holding a sign.

The sign was addressed to Mirka and said “Hey Mirka, wanna swap?”, obviously referencing their husbands.

TV cameras then captured Mirka’s reaction, and she was not impressed at all.

Mrs Federer shook her head and didn’t crack a smile, not appearing to see the funny side.

However Federer’s mother certainly did, letting out a laugh before a cheeky glance at Mirka.

“Don’t mess with Mirka!” a TV commentator said.

Fans went nuts over the funny clip on social media, with many disagreeing about whether Federer’s wife or mum had the better reaction.

Federer reaches astonishing rankings milestone

Federer was knocked out of the ATP Finals by Zverev, who went on to win the title with an upset win over Novak Djokovic.

But as the 2018 season comes to a close, the 37-year-old Federer has reached a major rankings milestone.

The world No.3 to end the year, he has now sat inside the top 100 for an astonishing total of 1000 weeks in his remarkable career.

It is believed Andre Agassi (1019 weeks) is the only other player to have reached the mark, with Jimmy Connors falling 37 short.

However, Federer has broken ties with both men for two year-end rankings records that highlight his impressive longevity.

He will now have finished in the top 100 for a record 20 years and the top 50 for a record 19 years.
