Teacher's shocking excuse after abuse allegation against teen

A married teacher has denied having sex with a 15-year-old student claiming she was too short to perform the sexual acts she is accused of.

The Metro reports Kandice Barber, 35, of Wendover, Buckinghamshire in the UK, is accused of having sex with the teenager in a standing position in a field and performing a sexual act on him in the woods among other allegations, Amersham Law Courts heard.

Ms Barber denied the student’s claims, using her height as a reason the incidents couldn’t have occurred.

Her lawyer, Nadia Chbat, argued on Tuesday (local time) that at 152cm tall Ms Barber was so “tiny” she only reached the teenager’s shoulders, making the logistics of the alleged sex impossible.

Marrried teacher Kandice Barber, 35, arrives at Aylesbury Crown Court, Buckinghamshire, where she is appearing accused of engaging in illegal sexual activity with a 15-year-old boy.

The jury was informed Ms Barber had already been convicted of messaging the boy a video of her performing a sexual act on her bed.

Ms Chbat told the now-18-year-old complainant that at the time of one incident in October 2018 he was already taller than Ms Barber.

“You told the police that you were stood behind her. You had pulled your clothes down.

“You accept she is quite tiny, only about five feet (152cm) isn’t she, so you were taller than her at the time weren’t you?”

In re-examination, the boy told prosecutor Richard Milne that he had bent his knees and crouched to make the position possible.

Two of the alleged incidents took place before the boy’s 16th birthday, with the other reportedly taking place after.

The court heard that on another occasion Ms Barber drove them to the side of a busy main road so the teenager could perform a sex act on her. It’s alleged they then got out of the car and she gave him oral sex.

Ms Chbat questioned the boy, asking why they would get out of the car at all.

“She is on top of you and you are performing a sexual act in the car. What was the need to get out of the car?” Ms Chbat said.

“Instead, a decision was made to get out of the car and walk into the wooded area.

“You both walk to this wooded area and that is when you then lie down in the wooded area and you say she performed oral sex on you.”

The boy told the court they had to leave the car because his teacher had parked right next to a busy main road near to his home in Buckinghamshire.

Court shown text messages from teacher to student

On Monday (local time) a text was read to the court that showed the defendant sent a message to the boy while teaching him in class which read: “You cannot make me blush when I am teaching now, poker face.”

The court also heard that as rumours about the relationship made their way through the school, the boy was interviewed by the headmaster but denied everything.

It was also alleged that Ms Barber told the boy she was pregnant, later calling him to say she’d suffered a miscarriage.

Ms Barber later admitted to police that she’d had an ectopic pregnancy, which was “well known throughout the school”. She said the unborn child was fathered by her husband.

The jury heard allegations the defendant had threatened to ‘bring the complainant down’ if he reported her.

The court heard that the boy told specialist police: “She had told me she could be pregnant with my child and I began to panic. I lied to pretty much everyone except my friends.

“She said that if I was going to snitch, snake on her basically, she was going to bring me down with her.

“I was like, are you going to accuse me of rape? She was like, ‘dot dot dot’. Obviously I got angry and I did not talk to her after that.”

The trial continues.
