Attending the ELLE Style Awards to collect the Performer award, we knew we could rely on Suki Waterhouse to bring some fashion drama to proceedings.

Waterhouse arrived at The Old Sessions House in London in a sheer, crystal embellished gown straight off the Fendi AW23 couture runway, paired with Tiffany & Co. jewellery. The actor and model, turned singer was among the stars giving a nod to ELLE's Designer of the Year, Kim Jones, who has helmed the brand since 2021.

The design features Jones' now signature drape details on the corseted bodice, with the sheer trailing skirt providing a peek of her Fendi panties. It's the perfect 2023 take on *that* Sex and the City Carrie runway moment.

The 'reveal and conceal' trend has made a major comeback this season, as seen on the 2023 runways. For the more coy, there's iterations with an opaque mini attached from Prada and Tory Birch, or for the daring, Miu Miu's naked skirts come with high slits, which are worn over high waisted fashion knickers. However, for the truly bold, the designer also sent models down the runway wearing sequin and knitted pants with nothing on top.

Just this week, Emma Corrin proved the no-trousers trend has legs when she made a full Miu Miu AW23 look feel party ready at Venice Film Festival. Though for the red carpet, we're fully on board with Waterhouse's twist on underwear as outerwear.

It's a look she also gave her seal of approval at the Met Gala 2023, when she wore a sheer floral embroidered gown also by Fendi, from Karl Lagerfeld's penultimate collection for the brand, with sequin panties underneath.
