Speaking to The Mirror, Motsi explained that being on the BBC One Saturday night stalwart has actually changed their bond with each other.
"It's made us closer. People used to ask, 'Oh, are you guys not competing against each other?' But it's the exact opposite," she said.
"Doing Strictly together has brought us to a place where the only way we can take care of each other is to be actually excellent at what we do."
Also in the interview, Motsi spoke about her figure. While embracing her body is something that fans have praised her for, she admitted that the dance industry's expectations of a certain body type do get to her sometimes.
"It's still there [the pressure]," she said. "The seed is sown when you start in the industry and it grows when you're dancing. You have to stop it yourself and be like, 'This is not realistic and you can't look that way.'
"Being able to shut down that negative voice is a daily fight."
The celebrity line-up for Strictly's 2023 series has now been revealed after plenty of speculation, and it turns out that Motsi found out who was taking part when the public did.
"They don't tell me anything," she said. "Everybody knows it before I know it! But whoever's coming on, bring it on."
Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
