Stewart set for Scotland debut against Wales

Scotland head coach Bryan Easson has announced his squad to take on Wales in the Women's Six Nations at Cardiff Arms Park on Saturday (16:45).

Corstorphine Cougars and Edinburgh flanker Alex Stewart will make her international debut following her standout performances in the Celtic Challenge.

Stewart is joined in the back row by skipper Rachel Malcolm and Evie Gallagher, while Meryl Smith is preferred to Chloe Rollie at full-back.

Caity Mattinson and Helen Nelson are tasked with pulling the strings in the half-backs.

Scotland: Smith, Lloyd, Orr, Thomson, Grant, Nelson (VC), Mattinson; Bartlett, Skeldon, Belisle, Wassell, Bonar, Malcolm (C), Stewart, Gallagher.
