'I spent many months fighting for this moment'

Aston Villa midfielder Emiliano Buendia made his first start for 16 months in the 2-1 victory over Wycombe Wanderers in the Carabao Cup.

Speaking to BBC Radio WM, Buendia said: "It's an amazing feeling to be back on the team and to be playing again from the start.

"It means a lot. I spent many long months fighting for this moment. It was a really hard process and really hard injury.

"I've tried to prepare myself as good as possible and today I could help the team again."
