Spartans 0-1 Partick Thistle: What the managers said

Spartans boss Jack Beesley:

"The stuff we asked for in terms of effort was all there. I don't think either team played anywhere near their best and there were points in the game where it felt like a non-event, there wasn't much happening to get you off your seat.

"I think the overwhelming emotion is frustration, more so because we didn't give as good an account of ourselves as we would have liked.

"A frustrating night but nothing to get too despondent on. We've got a couple of big games coming up, we will try learn a few things from tonight, regroup and go again on Sunday."

Partick Thistle boss Brian Graham:

"First and foremost we came here to get three points and that is what we have done.

"We didn't really take our chances in the first half but we need to be more ruthless - I keep banging that drum. In the second half the game was really scrappy and it took a quality ball in from Amy Bulloch for Carla Boyce to score and that will do her confidence the world of good.

"The momentum is there. When you have got that you always believe you are going to go and get the goal. The way they saw out the game after that was really classy and they deserve a pat on the back for that."
