Sources: Jimmy Butler intends to play in Game 4 of East finals vs. Celtics

BOSTON — Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler (knee) intends to play in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Boston Celtics on Monday, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

The six-time All-Star is being listed as questionable for Monday.

Miami is also listing Kyle Lowry (hamstring), Tyler Herro (groin), P.J. Tucker (knee), Max Strus (hamstring) and Gabe Vincent (hamstring) as questionable.

Butler sustained the flare-up in his right knee in the first half of Game 3 on Saturday. He was ruled out for the second half due to inflammation and finished with eight points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals in 19 minutes. Victor Oladipo started the third quarter in his place.

Butler has had complications with that knee off and on all season. He missed Game 5 of the Heat's first-round series against the Atlanta Hawks because of it. Butler tore his meniscus in that knee that required surgery in 2018.

Miami leads the series, 2-1, after 109-103 victory in Boston in which the home team never had a lead.

Butler is averaging 28.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 2.2 steals in these playoffs.
