Australian substitute Garang Kuol has scored his first goal in the Scottish Premiership and grabbed a dramatic added-time leveller as Hearts fought back to draw 2-2 with Rangers at Ibrox.

The Jambos, who also fielded Socceroos Kye Knowles, Nathaniel Atkinson and Cameron Devlin in their starting lineup, needed a win for their bid for third place and skipper Lawrence Shankland sensationally opened the scoring after less than a minute.

It took until first-half added time for Rangers midfielder Todd Cantwell to level.

Attacker Fashion Sakala put the hosts ahead in the 47th minute but in the final seconds of three added minutes 18-year-old former Central Coast Mariners star Kuol took advantage of some slackness to fire in the equaliser with the last kick of the game.

But with Aberdeen dismissing St Mirren 3-0 at Pittodrie, Hearts cannot catch the Dons, who will finish best of the rest outside the Old Firm.

In the capital, Hibernian came from behind to beat 10-man Celtic 4-2 at Easter Road and set up a final-day shootout with Edinburgh rivals Hearts for fourth spot.

The champions led 2-1 through Reo Hatate's penalty and Oh Hyeon-Gyu's effort before substitute Daizen Maeda's red card midway through the second half paved the way for Lee Johnson's side to fight back and claim a vital victory.

Kevin Nisbet levelled from the spot with quarter of an hour left before Ellie Youan completed his brace and Alexandro Bernabei's own-goal sparked further celebrations.

Celtic's Aussie boss Ange Postecoglou insists he will carry the can for the Hoops' recent dip in form, now winless in three games since wrapping up the title earlier this month.

"We love to live in the moment and everyone is sort of making assessments on what is happening right now ... that's fine," Postecoglou said.

"Most of that is on me, to be honest. I am the one making five or six line-up changes every week. That's hurting the side and there's no doubt about that, but I'm doing it for a reason and that has affected our level of performance."

The win ensured Hibs can finish no lower than fifth - which would be enough for a crack at continental competition if Celtic beat Inverness in the Scottish Cup final - but they have the opportunity to end the campaign on the ultimate high by pipping Hearts to fourth if they win at Tynecastle on Saturday.

Relegation-threatened County came back from two goals down during a dramatic 3-3 draw with the Saints.

Bottom-of-the-table United need to beat in-form Motherwell at Fir Park and hope Killie defeat County, with an eight-goal swing going in their favour.

Elsewhere, mid-table Livingston drew 1-1 with Motherwell.
