THEY SAID IT: "It really has been coming for us, we were waiting for all the final third stuff to click and it finally did." - Wellington's Chloe Knott delights in their first win of the season and a breakthrough at home, a 5-0 thrashing of Canberra United.

WOMAN OF THE WEEK: Veteran midfielder Betsy Hassett turned in a star performance for Wellington, scoring two goals to lead the Phoenix to victory.

TALKING POINT: Is the top four locked in? Western United and Melbourne City are sitting pretty in the top two with Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory also looking comfortable. There is a full five points between fourth-placed Victory and fifth-placed Adelaide.

BEAT THAT: Alex Chidiac's goal against Adelaide was a lovely piece of work. Winger Beattie Goad cut inside, skipped past Isabel Hodgson and Xiao Yuyi before cutting back for Chidiac who took a touch, glided past her opponent then tucked the ball away with her second touch.

STAT ATTACK: Wellington's 5-0 thrashing of Canberra was their first ever home win, their biggest victory margin and the first time they have scored more than three goals in a match.

WORLD CUP WATCH: Melbourne Victory star Chidiac underlined her status as one of the league's top players with a masterful performance against Adelaide. Chidiac scored a wonderful goal to level the scores, then turned provider with the corner for skipper Kayla Morrison's winning goal. Teammates and fellow capped Matildas Beattie Goad and Jessika Nash were also excellent.

UNDER PRESSURE: After shaping as early-season contenders, Adelaide are winless in five matches and let a 1-0 lead slip against Victory at home. They are a full five points outside the top four and desperately need to turn things around if they are to make the finals.

WHAT'S NEXT: Victory and Sydney have a tantalising clash at AAMI Park on Thursday night. On Saturday, Canberra will look to bounce back against Western United, the Wanderers return to action against the battling Jets and Brisbane will eye a response against Wellington. Adelaide must deliver against City away on Sunday.
