Simone Biles celebrates boyfriend Jonathan Owens' first NFL interception

Houston Texans safety Jonathan Owens crossed an NFL milestone off his list in Week 16. With roughly four minutes to go before halftime, Owens picked up his first career interception on an ill-advised throw from Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert.

No one was more excited for Owens than Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles, Owens' girlfriend. Biles retweeted a video of Owens' interception with the caption, "LFG!"

The announcer in the clip mentions Biles and Owens are together, saying, "And you know his girlfriend is going to love that. Four-time Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles, she'll be celebrating her boyfriend's first NFL INT."

Owens' big day continued in the second half, when he recovered a fumble in the fourth quarter. Biles enjoyed seeing that play too.

The Texans would eventually win in an upset, 41-29.

Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens have been together over a year

Biles and Owens started dating over a year ago. Biles' athletic history is well-known by now. She has won four gold medals at the Olympics and is considered one of the best gymnasts of all time.

Owens went undrafted in 2018, and initially joined the Arizona Cardinals. He was cut by the team in 2019, and joined the Texans. He was active for seven games with the Texans in 2019 and 2020, but did not register any stats.

Owens made it onto the field in Week 12. He has played in every Texans game since then, getting his first start in Week 15. Coming into Sunday's game, Owens had 14 tackles this season. He'll add one interception and a fumble recovery to his stat sheet.
