Newly appointed St Johnstone head coach Simo Valakari is looking to "create something special" at McDiarmid Park.

The 51-year-old has won domestic honours in Finland and Latvia across his 14-year managerial career, as well as having a three-year spell at Norwegian outfit Tromso.
