Ben Simmons leaves match after injury for 76ers

Ben Simmons has made an early exit in the Philadelphia 76ers' NBA game against the Orlando Magic with back tightness and was ruled out by the team.

Simmons played eight minutes, notching four points and four assists before he was withdrawn with about four minutes left in the first quarter.

The Sixers led the Magic 63-52 at halftime, before a stunning comeback from Orlando set up a grandstand finish.

Despite the early injury to Simmons, the 76ers managed to hang on for a nail-biting 116-115 victory.

Reigning NBA rookie of the year Simmons played 43 and 34 minutes in the 76ers' first two games of the season.

They lost their opener in Boston on Tuesday before Simmons produced a triple-double in their home win against Chicago on Thursday.
