Shock twist in cheerleader’s death

Jayden Moorea, aka Dan Shearin, will have his murder case mentioned in the Brisbane Supreme Court where it's expected the case will be discontinued. Mr Moorea was charged with murdering his 21-year-old cheerleader girlfriend Breeana Robinson after she plummeted to her death at Southport's H20 tower in January 2013. Police had claimed Mr Moorea, 49, had thrown her from his 11th floor balcony at the time.

Robinson, a cheerleader for the Gold Coast Titans, had moved into Mr Morea’s apartment prior to her death.

Mr Moorea was listed to stand trial from November 13, with Moorea to face one count each of murder and damaging evidence with intent.

However, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions office formally withdrew the two charges against Mr Moorea in the Brisbane Supreme Court on Wednesday.
