Severe Thunderstorm Brings Damaging Hail to Broken Hill

A severe thunderstorm brought heavy rainfall and large hailstones to the New South Wales outback city of Broken Hill on January 2, leaving multiple properties damaged.

At least 72 requests for assistance were responded to by local emergency services after ceilings and roofs were left damaged by hail.

The Bureau of Meteorology issued a severe thunderstorm warning for most of western New South Wales on January 2 with the possibility of large hailstones, heavy rainfall and damaging winds.
