Serie A derby win for Atalanta at Brescia

Atalanta have won 3-0 in a regional derby at rock bottom Brescia 3-0 to go fourth in Serie A.

Mario Pasalic scored twice before Josip Ilicic struck in stoppage time to seal the away victory.

The Bergamo side are the league's top scorers with 34 goals from 14 games and have moved on 25 points, to sit above Cagliari and Roma on goal difference.

Promoted Brescia suffered a sixth-straight defeat and languish on seven points.

"We close a week of tough games with a win," Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini said, referring to last Saturday's 3-1 loss at Juventus and Tuesday's 2-0 defeat of Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.

"We are well off it and these three points are important for the standing.

"I feared the fatigue from this week, there was some, but these boys deserve good marks and applause."

Pasalic nodded home off Timothy Castagne's cross and sent another first-half header against the post.

He doubled the lead with a slick back-heel flick from close range on 61 minutes.

Mario Balotelli showed flashes of form as he returned to Brescia's line-up after sitting out a game due to disciplinary reasons.

But his best effort hit the bar on 55 minutes before Atalanta substitute Ruslan Malinovskyi hit the post.

Ilicic fired in the third goal after a swift counter attack in time added on.

Balotelli had been sidelined for Brescia's 3-0 loss at Roma last weekend after a confrontation with coach Fabio Grosso.

Elsewhere, Genoa's Kevin Agudelo and Andrea Favilli shook the woodwork in the second half before Gleison Bremer's header gave Torino a 1-0 away win.

The Genoese remain in the three-team drop zone while Toro are 10th.

Fiorentina dropped to 11th after their 1-0 home loss to Lecce, who move up to 13th.

A second-half headed goal from Andrea La Mantia was enough for Lecce.
