Anthony Seibold has become the latest NRL assistant to make the code switch to join England rugby union head coach Eddie Jones' staff.
Jones has hired former South Sydney and Brisbane coach Seibold, who has spent this season as an assistant to Newcastle coach Adam O'Brien, as his new defence coach.
He replaces former All Blacks coach John Mitchell who has left to join London club Wasps
"Anthony is a coach that I have had a relationship with since 2019 and have followed his career closely," said Jones.
"He is a good coach and thinks deeply about the game."
Former Wallabies coach Jones previously hired Melbourne assistant Jason Ryles as skills coach in 2020, before Ryles opted to stay in Australia earlier this year with family due to pandemic restrictions.
The Australian has also brought in former England hooker Richard Cockerill as forwards coach.
"We're two years from the World Cup so we wanted to freshen up our coaching team and get the right people in place for where we want to go - which is to win the World Cup," Jones said.
England next face Tonga on November 6, Australia on November 13, and South Africa on November 20, with all three matches at Twickenham.
