Scotland can 'compete against any opponent' - Martinez Losa

Pedro Martinez Losa insists Scotland are good enough to top their Euro 2025 qualifying group despite not having won a competitive fixture since October 2022.

The head coach has announced his squad for the opening games away to Serbia and home to Slovakia next month, with Scotland also due to face Israel in the group.

"We have won eight matches [friendlies] in this period of time and we have the feeling that we can compete against any opponent," Martinez Losa said.

"We are focused on what we can do well. We’re confident that Serbia and Slovakia are opponents we can compete with, get the three points and continue building the energy for the next camp.

“We want to qualify for the Euros. We know what the route is. One game at a time. Aim to be first in the group and then prepare for the play-offs.

“We’ve done a lot of work on culture and values and aspects that we want to improve from the last camp.

"There was a lot of good energy and a reconnecting with the football that we can play. We’re very positive because we left the last camp with a lot of energy.”
