Maria Sakkari and Belinda Benic, two of Emma Raducanu's victims en route to her US Open triumph, have made it into the quarter-finals of the Ostrava Open.

Fourth seed Sakkari, who lost to Britain's eventual shock winner Raducanu in the semis at Flushing Meadows when a hot favourite to prevail, dropped just seven points on serve in a dominant 6-4 6-2 win over Jelena Ostapenko in an hour and 23 minutes on Thursday.

The Greek will next face Czech wildcard Tereza Martincova, who won two tiebreaks to knock out fifth seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the indoor hardcourt event.

The French Open finalist Pavlyuchenkova had trailed 5-1 in the second set but kept battling before falling to a 7-6 (7-5) 7-6 (8-6) defeat.

Third seed Belinda Bencic, who also lost to Raducanu in the quarter-finals of the US Open, was a comfortable 6-2 6-3 winner against Sara Sorribes Tormo , while seventh seed Elena Rybakina rattled down 11 aces on her way to a 6-3 2-6 6-1 victory over qualifier Magda Linette.

Bencic will next play Estonia's Anett Kontaveit while Rybakina faces Poland's top seed, Iga Swiatek.
