Sagan wins Tour stage 2, Porte gets a flat

World champion Peter Sagan has won a crash-marred second stage of the Tour de France and took the overall leader's yellow jersey with a perfectly-timed sprint.

The Slovak beat Italian Sonny Colbrelli and France's Arnaud Demare, who were second and third, respectively, on Sunday.

Australian Richie Porte again failed to finish in the top 10, partly because he had to pull over to get a wheel change from a team car after getting a flat tyre.

Colombian Fernando Gaviria, who won the opening stage on Saturday and wore the yellow jersey during the 182.5km ride from Mouilleron-Saint-Germain, crashed in the finale and was unable to contest the sprint.
