All Black's horror injury

All Black Cory Jane's horror injury looks a lot worse than it is as he may still be available to play this weekend.

The compound dislocation of the left ring-finger happened when his finger was caught in an opponent's jersey.

"His finger got caught in the jersey [of Taranaki's Kurt Baker] and that just wrenched it," Wellington coach Andre Bell told Stuff.co.nz.

"It was a bizarre injury, which our doctors hadn't come across before. But they did the right things and he's on the road to recovery."

Jane's hand was stitched and placed in a splint immediately after the incident and he subsequently post a picture on his Twitter account. He has since removed the image but his tweets about the incident remain.

"Damn it...bone came out of my finger...Off to hospital now...did you see me trying to tackle wif one arm haha.

"Got to the hospital and they put me in a wheelchair haha...It's only my finger...I still sat in it tho and they pushed me haha."

Jane has joined the All Blacks in camp as they prepare for their first Test of the season in Dunedin.
