Mohammad Rizwan has smashed his first hundred in Twenty20 cricket to help Pakistan beat South Africa by three runs in the first of their three-match series.
Defending 170 for victory, the Rizwan-inspired home side fought back impressively in Lahore to restrict the tourists to 6-166.
Wicketkeeper Rizwan scored a red-ball hundred against South Africa earlier this month and reached three figures again this time off 64 balls.
It was the 28-year-old's first century in the sprint format at the 112th time of asking and his remarkable innings of 104 not out included seven maximums.
An inexperienced and youthful South Africa made a fantastic start in reply to Pakistan's 6-169, with Janneman Malan hitting 44.
Fellow opener Reeza Hendricks added a patient 54 but Rizwan ran him out in the 18th over.
That dismissal backed up Usman Qadir's excellent figures of 2-21 as the hosts hold their nerve to edge the series opener.
