Brooklyn Nets fans' savage Ben Simmons stunt backfires spectacularly

Ben Simmons has made Brooklyn Nets fans look rather silly, exploding for 31 points in a dominant win for the Sixers in Game 3.

The 131-115 victory in Brooklyn on Thursday gives Simmons’ team a 2-1 lead in their best-of-seven playoff series.

Simmons also had nine assists, four rebounds, three blocks and two steals, making a mockery of a post-game stunt from Nets fans.

As the series shifted to Brooklyn on Thursday, someone went to extreme lengths to troll the Aussie point guard:

“Missing: Have you seen his jumper?” a poster on the street said.

Simmons’ jump shot has been the target of mockery from Nets fans all series, but this takes it to a whole new level.

It also urged anybody who locates the point guard’s jumper to contact his girlfriend, Kendall Jenner.

The 76ers’ All-Star centre Joel Embid has been battling a sore left knee and sat out of the game, but Simmons and fellow starters Tobias Harris and JJ Redick stepped up.

Harris added 29 points and 16 rebounds and Redick proved why he is one of the NBA’s best long-range shooters dropping five three point attempts on his way to 26 points.

Simmons was fired up after Nets’ bench player Jared Dudley called him out for being an “average” player when the Australian is restricted to playing in the half-court, rather than when he is “great” out running in transition.

D’Angelo Russell was Brooklyn’s best with 26 points.

The Nets surprised when they jumped on the 76ers in the first game of the series in Philadelphia but the 76ers’ bounced back in game two with a franchise postseason scoring record in a 145-123 home win.
