MLB star takes season's most ridiculous catch

Boston Red Sox star Andrew Benintendi has made the most ridiculous catch of the MLB season, snaring a flying ball from well over the wall.

The catch off the bat of Steven Souza helped the Red Sox to victory over the Tampa Bay Rays, as it denied what would have been a two-run homer.

"That’s a highlight-reel play at a pivotal time in the game," Boston manager John Farrell said.

Meanwhile, the player himself was pretty impressed with his own performance.

"I think that’s the best catch I’ve made. I’ve never really had the opportunity to do that," Benintendi said.

"I knew that it was going to go out. I was just trying to time it and I was fortunate enough to finish with it."
