Bunker howler robs Broncos rookie of try

Bunker howler robs Broncos rookie of try

The NRL bunker has copped plenty of criticism this season, and it came under fire again after the Broncos were denied what most considered a legitimate try against the Roosters.

Brisbane was trailing by 16 points when Herman Ese’ese thought he’d got the visitors back in the contest with his maiden NRL try.

The rookie was tackled short of the tryline but momentum and the Roosters tacklers appeared to carry him over the strip as he reached out and placed the ball down.

The on-field referee thought it was a try but sent it upstairs just to be sure, and when the no-try decision was finally handed down, the commentators and fans were left baffled.
